About us

ask the expert

The Radio and Television Investigation Service (RTIS) is responsible for helping viewers and listeners with interference to their domestic television and radio services, both BBC and commercial.

How we can help

Our aim is to help solve interference problems and provide possible solutions. If we can't solve it, we can advise on sources of further help.

What we do

  • Help with a diagnostic analysis of your installation, via our website and our contact methods on the bottom of this page
  • Answer any specific questions you have about the symptoms of your interference
  • Advise on the possible source of your problem
  • Give guidance on how you can solve the problem. Occasionally, if we believe there is interference we may be able to refer the case to Ofcom.

The investigation process and the criteria of what can and cannot be referred to Ofcom can be found on our Investigation Process page.
