Mobile phone interference

Across the UK mobile phone operators are rolling out 4G mobile networks. 4G enables mobile phone, laptops and tablets access to the internet. There is a very small chance that some 4G signals will interfere with your Freeview reception.

Restore TV provides support for problems with TV received through an aerial - such as Freeview, BT, TalkTalk or YouView - caused by mobile signals. Their role is simple - to make sure you can still watch TV when  mobile signals are upgraded.

Some of the frequencies used for 4G mobile phone services are next to the frequencies used for Freeview. Depending on where you live and the location of the nearest 4G phone mast, there is the possibility that some Freeview services could be impacted by the 4G services. This can normally be resolved by using a filter between the aerial socket and the TV or between the TV aerial and the amplifier if you have one.

Restore TV will be able to explain about the different types of filters available and determine the best type of filter for your installation. If you would like more information about 4G, and to determine whether you are affected, simply contact Restore TV on 0808 13 13 800, or visit the Restore TV website

It will be necessary to have a filter for each TV if you have more than one TV in your house sharing an aerial.
